New York-based electro disco duo Koko Dozo announced that they signed a deal with Red Star Records, run by former New York Dolls manager, A&R/record producer Marty Thau (Suicide, The Real Kids, The Fleshtones). The label will release Koko Dozo's debut EP in March 2010.
Amy Douglas & Polarity/1 are from planet Koko Dozo. What planet are you from? They discovered Earth on Feb. 23, 2008 when Nacotheque hosted the release party for their debut, ILLEGAL SPACE ALIENS on subTEKst Recordings.
Polarity/1, multi-instrumentalist/arranger/composer/producer, makes songs without borders and beats for curved dancefloors using REAL SPACE-AGE COMPUTERS! In his laboratory cave, he grinds shards of lost cultural artifacts, barks and growls of ghosts in machines and luminescent sarcastic spaghetti. Then a pinch or two of the house special surreal spice. P/1 has four cult classic CDs of both electro-folk songs and all-instrumental electronica on subTEKst including Audioplasm, a duo project with Rubio. He also composes for film and for performances by Battery Dance Company and Quorum Ballet of Lisbon.
Out of this smoking brew flies Inter-Galactic Empress Amy Douglas who vaporizes the earwax of her victims with four and half octaves worth of nuclear acid lung power. She's a punky songwriting funkette who sharpened her teeth on earth at downtown NYC legendary music haunts and has worked numerous legends from George Clinton to the late great Illinois Jacquet. Her most recent venture was Red Hot Mama, a Hard Rock Vaudeville Show which featured wild cabaret rendi-tions of hard rock, punk & heavy metal classics. From jazz to funk to punk, there is nothing her tongue hasn't touched.

or however you would like to call yourself; after all, you lack a name just as you lack direction. Drowned in the wealth of your ancestors, you pride yourself on the achievements of your forefathers, citing as your greatest victory not the victory over yourself, but over countries you've never set foot in, let alone fought for. Gone are the times of libraries and dances and poems and philosophy; your libraries are homeless shelters, your dances late-night TV shows, your poems advertising slogans and your philosophy materialism. Not the outcasts, the loners, the freedom seekers, are your heroes; you deem them ragged and cling to tin gods of fallen pop starlets and movie stars instead.
Your life is so simple: everything you do or see appears to be directed toward the one purpose that is procreation, from the clothes you see in your local shopping mall to the alleged importance of monetary possessions you are educated to believe. You gorge on careerist idols and regurgitate domestic ideals, are encouraged to fabricate flawless families and machinate your own mediocrity.
In this light, your life is equally complicated. What it is you are toiling for you are not really sure, but under the pretense that the familiar is superior to the unknown, you live with neither explanation nor purpose. You not only march in the suffocating shadow of the bourgeoisie you yourself have created, but worship it mindlessly as the ultimate "thing-in-itself". You define your value not, as you like to claim, by who you are, but by who others think you are.
Please Generation, switch off that TV, log off that networking site. Put down your diplomas and qualifications for just a second. Satisfaction isn't on the road to anything; satisfaction is the road. The prayers you speak now may seem non-committal, but the sacrifices you will make are human.

with original breaks and the famous tantric loops of Polarity/1. The
brilliant vocals of singer Amy Douglas are pretty often into the groove,
stepping, breathing as much as a great singer can do, while her bright voice
stands out in the topical parts of the track. The Space-based duo is once
again back. Stand clear of the closing doors please, because the dance floor is moving!
